![]() Let the Northampton Bach Choir help you look forward to Christmas with their performance of Handel’s evergreen Messiah. First performed in Dublin in April 1742, this masterpiece was amazingly completed by the composer in as little as 24 days and has become probably the most popular work in the choral repertoire. The power, lyricism, sincerity and profundity to be found in Messiah has long marked it out as one of the supreme musical creations of any age.
So wrote Handel as he put the finishing touches to the Hallelujah Chorus. |
